Friday Hill, Erith, c. 1925

The Nordenfeldt Tavern is seen on the corner at the bottom of the hill. The pub was designed to serve employees of the adjacent and large Maxim Nordenfeldt Gun and Ammunition Company.

Its nickname the 'Pom Pom' is a reference to the 1899 Maxim automatic quick firing gun.
