1. The junction of Bexley Road and Brook Street, Northumberland Heath, looking towards Erith with the Duke of Northum-berland public house on the left.

The ground to the right was at that time still undev-eloped but was soon to be covered by shops and houses.

2. Bexley Road, looking north towards Erith. The road to the left, in the centre of the photograph, is Mill Road.

This part of Bexley Road is the main retail outlet for the people of Northumberland Heath.
