A parade of Shops in Bridge Road West.

One of the housing schemes which began in the early 1950s covered the building of over 120 houses on two new roads, Forest Road and Bridge Road, the latter remaining a cul-de-sac until 1961 when the bridge over the railway opened and it was connected to Bridge Road West to give uninterrupted access to Slade Green from Northend Road.
