Most of Bickley was built up by 1930, but with gardens of generous proportions and areas of woodland left to maintain a rural feel.

The area was ripe for later infill building which has continued to the present day. Mokine was part of a small development begun in the 1930s but completed after the war.

On the left through the trees is the side wall of the Grange, a large house built around 1890 that originally dominated this part of the road.
