Main Road, Biggin Hill, Bromley, c.1985

This view, 151 to 153 Main Road, Biggin Hill, amply illustrates the unregulated nature of building development and shows a rare survival of one of the original plot land buildings.

Many of these were built in the early 20th century and were characterised by flimsy and often poor materials, a product of the difficulty of transporting to a hilly and remote location, and the builders' lack of resources.
