The church remains little altered today.

Opening in 1863 to the design of London architect R. H. Moore and following a sudden upsurge of interest in the Baptist church caused by the work of an enthusiastic young preacher, this early view shows the gate to Sherman's field on the left, later the site of Tweedy Road.
