Beech Tree Hotel, London
Road, Bromley, c. 1895

|
|
Dating
from the 1860s and part of the first phase
of development along the London Road, The
Beech Tree Hotel was named after a prominent
purple beech tree on the site upon which it
was built.
The tree was said to have been a particular
favourite of Joseph Paxton, builder of the
Crystal Palace.
The hotel suffered serious damage in a V1
attack in 1944 and was rebuilt after the war
in a contemporary style. |
