The Chestnuts, St Paul's
Cray Road, Cray Valley, c. 1900

|
|
Dating
from the 1870s, when this area to the east
of Royal Parade began to be developed, "The
Chestnuts" was one of a number of similar
large houses on the road to St. Paul's Cray.
In 1881 it was the home of William Winter,
a solicitor.
It was replaced with flats in the mid 1950s,
although part of the original building was
incorporated into the design. |
