Derry Downs, Cray Valley, c. 1920

Derry Downs, Cray Valley, c. 1920

One of the few Victorian developments in the Cray Valley, Derry Downs began in 1866 and developed over the next 30 years.

Although physically close to Orpington New Town, developing on the other side of Chelsfield Lane, this was a separate develop-ment with houses on individual plots, individually designed.

Although there has been further development since the war, many of the original houses remain.
