Groveland's Road, St Paul's Cray, 1950

Groveland's Road, St Paul's Cray, 1950Photograph taken on 5th February 1950. Copyright: Topham Picture Source.

The St Paul's Cray Estate began to be built almost immediately the war was over, with the first residents moving in in 1949.

Groveland's Road has a small parade of shops behind the camera.

A picture taken only 17 years earlier near this location shows Gray's Farm on this site and a vastly different scene to the one seen here.
