Farnborough is part suburban (mainly mid- and late-20th century) and part rural. The heart of the village is centered on the High Street (by-passed in 1927) and Church Road.

The High Street contains most Victorian (and earlier) buildings and local shops.

This view looks east from the junction with Tubbenden Lane towards the George and Dragon pub.
