Homefield Rise and The Knoll, Orpington, Bromley, 1916

In the distance, on the other side of the High Street, Knoll Rise is being developed. It was the first road on the Knoll estate, which grew gradually following the death of William Vinson, owner of Mayfield House. |
|
Homefield Rise was one of the first roads to be developed in central Orpington. It was built on land adjoining "The Walnuts" a house, like Mayfield Place, in the ownership of the Vinson family. It is shown here almost complete.
