26 Croydon Road, Penge, 1971

Typical of much of the later victorian housing in Penge, away from the larger type initially built around the Crystal Palace, this house was the home of a laundress for a number of years in the late 19th century.

Much small, older housing was destroyed during wartime V1 attacks but this area close to the High Street survived until the substantial redevelopments of the early 1970s.
