Police Station, Penge, c. 1905

Police Station, Penge, c. 1905

Believed to be the oldest working station in London, Penge Police Station was built in 1872.

This followed pressure from the Penge Vestry who were concerned with rising crime, especially on dark winter evenings.

It replaced an earlier, temporary structure.
