Fairway (or Tudor Way), Petts Wood, c. 1933

Fairway (or Tudor Way), Petts Wood, c. 1933

(Walter) Reed and (George) Hoad was one of a large number of building firms involved in the development of Petts Wood.

They were unusual in that they were closely connected with Basil Scruby, the developer of the area.

These were the Type 'A' houses, selling for £795; considerably more expensive than similar developments that were to follow in the later 1930s.
