Wood Ride, Petts Wood, c. 1935

Wood Ride, Petts Wood, c. 1935

These houses in Wood Ride were built by Noel Rees, one of the best known and most expensive builders in Petts Wood.

Four bedroom houses in Wood Ride, cost over £2000, nearly four times the cost of new houses being built elsewhere in south-east London at the time.

For a while Rees lived in Wood Ride in the house that was also the sale house. Rees also built other upmarket estates on the fringes of London.
