On the south side of Croydon Road, Kingsway Parade opened in 1935.

Originally the home of a butcher, baker, children's outfitter, hairdresser and fishmonger among others, by the time this photograph was taken a builder's merchant and Radio and TV shop had been added.

Note how much the shops seen at the end of the row were designed to look like houses.
