Fire Station, Glebe Way, West Wickham, 1949

Fire Station, Glebe Way, West Wickham, 1949

West Wickham's only purpose built fire station opened in July 1939 in Glebe Way.

Built in confident pre-war style by the County Fire Brigade, it closed in March 1968 shortly after takeover by the Greater London Council.

After some discussion about its future use it eventually became a caravan centre.
