Fire Station, Glebe Way,
West Wickham, 1949

|
|
West
Wickham's only purpose built fire station
opened in July 1939 in Glebe Way.
Built in confident pre-war style by the County
Fire Brigade, it closed in March 1968 shortly
after takeover by the Greater London Council.
After some discussion about its future use
it eventually became a caravan centre.
