West Wickham grew up almost overnight. This rustic looking parade appeared in 1929 and was soon thriving.

Businesses included a wine merchant, hardware store, boot repairers and drapers.

Above the shops were a dentist, solicitors, an accountant and the West Wickham Typing and Secretarial Bureau.

The parade continues to house a wide range of shops even today.
