Ideal Homes: Suburbia in Focus cover logo

The Ideal Homes: Suburbia in Focus Web site was designed and produced by the University of Greenwich. Its content was provided by a dedicated group of librarians, archivists and historians from London's Boroughs: Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark - and, increasingly, by members of the public with strong south-east London connections, all around the world.

Ideal Homes: Suburbia in Focus is an ongoing project and we are actively seeking your involvement, either by
providing new material or by commenting on the existing content.

Here is an example of a restored photograph, a c.1910 postcard sent to us by Anne Morse in Surfers Paradise in Queensland, Australia. Click on each image to enlarge.
