Parts of Abbey Wood are in the Borough of Bexley

Bostall Hill, Abbey Wood, 1968

This photograph is part of a photographic survey of the Abbey Wood Estate made by Sandra Lawrence in c. 1968.

Houses in Bostall Hill.

Bostall Farm and Suffolk Place Farm were acquired by the Royal Arsenal Co-operative Society in 1886 and 1899 respectively and developed for housing.

The houses shown here, however, are of a much later vintage, typical of council houses built in the 1960s.
