Wilton Road and Abbey Wood Station, Abbey Wood, 2002
Parts of Abbey Wood are in the Borough of Bexley

Wilton Road and Abbey Wood Station, Abbey Wood, 2002

Wilton Road leading to Abbey Wood Station. The station, which opened in 1849, was rebuilt in 1987 when the adjacent level crossing, a traffic nightmare, was replaced by a bridge.

Abbey Wood Station forms part of the proposed Crossrail link from the new station at Ebbsfleet in the east to Paddington in the west. If this project goes ahead the scene shown here will alter substantially. An artist's impression of the new station can be seen here.
