Housing was spreading rapidly in Kidbrooke, but Stud Farm can still be seen as well as Chandler's Farm beside the Rochester Way.

Development around the predominately rural Eltham was rapid in the 20th century.

The Corbett Estate, developed by Archibald Cameron Corbett, was being built (1900 - 1914); the Progress Estate was quickly built by the government in 1915, and the Page Estate at Eltham Green and Eltham Hill by Woolwich Borough Council from 1920.

The Middle Park Estate, built by Woolwich Borough Council on one of the royal parks, was under const-ruction from 1931.
