Shooter's Hill Road, Shooters Hill, c. 1900

Shooter's Hill Road, Shooters Hill, c. 1900

Postcard, published by Molyneux, Woolwich, c.1900

Even at the end of the 19th century Shooters Hill was an isolated area, despite the fact that the main road from London to Dover passed over its summit.

On the right-hand-side of this postcard is the memorial fountain to Samuel Phillips of Castle House (now demolished), who died in 1893.
