King George VI's Visit to the Duchy Estate, Kennington, 1937


King George VI seen here planting a crab-apple tree at Denny Crescent on the Duchy of Cornwall Estate.

The ceremony commemorated the 600th anniversary of the Duchy's charter granted by Edward III to Prince Edward, his son, the Black Prince, Duke of Cornwall, on March 17th 1337.
