New Cut Market, Waterloo, Lambeth North, 1933

New Cut Market, Waterloo, Lambeth North, 1933

Note the absence of traffic and the canopies on almost all of the shops.

A regrettably blurred market scene in the Cut, looking west towards Waterloo Road.

This famous street market started in the early part of the 19th century, extending across the Waterloo Road and down Lower Marsh.

Many of the buildings shown in the view were destroyed during the Second World War.
