Glennie Road, West Norwood, 1945

Glennie Road, West Norwood, 1945

This view of Glennie Road in West Norwood, shows a typical example of suburban residential development from the late 1890s.

Similar to housing of this era found in other parts of the borough, this mixture of fairly large semi-detached and terraced houses are still to be seen lining many of the streets of Lambeth.

However, since the1990s, with the growing demand for housing in London, they are rapidly losing their single home status and being converted into flats and houses in multiple occupation.
