Stockwell Green,
Stockwell, c. 1868
 |
|
Stockwell,
now part of inner London, was originally one
of the villages of Lambeth Parish.
The village green, shown here surrounded by
Georgian residential development, survived
until the late 19th century when it was built
upon for suburban housing.
To the left can be seen Waltham Brewery, one
of Stockwell's two main breweries.
