The
opening of the Astoria Cinema, Streatham,
on 30th June 1930.
Built to the designs of A. E. Stone, the cinema
was noted for its neo-Egyptian styled interior.
The stage was larger than that of Drury Lane
and the auditorium seated 3000 people.
It is now the Odeon multi-screen cinema.
