Dick Sheppard School, the London County Council (LCC) secondary school for girls opened in Tulse Hill in September 1955.

Considered to be a modern school with all the latest equipment, this view shows the magnificent assembly hall.

The school was closed down in 1994 and the site redeveloped for private housing.
