Pyne Brothers, Lewisham Way, Deptford New Town, Lewisham, 1891

In the later part of the 19th century Lewisham High Road, now Lewisham Way, was a thriving shopping street.

Its centrepiece was Pyne's department store, which stood north of Tanner's Hill.

Pyne's premises were extended in the 1930s and business in their name continued into the 1960s. The 1930s premises were converted into flats in the late 1980s.
