Montague House Boys' Orphanage, Blackheath, c. 1905

Montague House, which was built before 1741 and extended c.1780, was the largest of these houses in Dartmouth Hill.

Since ceasing to be an orphanage it has been divided into flats.

The luxury estate project by Lord Dartmouth late in the 17th century on the western edge of Blackheath spread from the central stem of Dartmouth Row into several offshoots.
