Bandstand, Hilly Fields,
Brockley, c. 1900
 |
|

Hilly Fields was purchased by the London County
Council and dedicated as a public park in
1896.
This followed a campaign by the Commons Preservation
Society, anxious to secure an open space for
the recreation of the overcrowded poor of
Deptford as well as the people of Lewisham,
Brockley and New Cross.
