Mill Lane, Deptford New Town, Lewisham, c. 1890

Mill Lane, Deptford New Town, Lewisham, c. 1890

Mill Lane was an appalling slum of ramshackle cottages and common lodging houses.

These houses survived the 1880s, when the poorer quality houses in the area were rebuilt.
