Pyne's premises were rebuilt in the 1930s and business in their name continued into the 1960s. The 1930s premises were converted into flats in the late 1980s.

In the later part of the 19th century Lewisham High Road, now Lewisham Way, was a thriving shopping street.

Its centrepieces were Deptford Library and Pyne's general drapers, which stood opposite each other.
