The Chestnuts, Parson Street, Lewisham, c. 1890

The Chestnuts was demolished in the 1960s as part of the development of the Sundermead Estate. |
|
The Chestnuts was one of Lewisham's earliest large houses and one that, unusually, survived until the 20th century.
Once isolated from surrounding houses, by the mid-19th century it was encroached upon by small terraces on the south side of Loampit Vale. |
