Lewisham
House stood at the junction
of Lewisham High Street and
Ladywell Road.
Lewisham House
was one of the old High
Street mansions that succumbed
to the residential, commercial
and, in this case, administrative
development demanded by
the growing town. Lewisham
House was sacrificed to
the need of a fire station,
police station, mortuary
and coroner's court.
At one
time in use as a private
school, the house had been
significantly altered by
its last owners, the wealthy
Parker family. |
