These elaborate villas, Nos 56, 58 and 60 Loampit Hill, were typical of many of the grander houses built after the arrival of the railways in the 1870s. Residents had the choice of two stations: St. Johns (still operating) and Lewisham Road (now closed) which stood 150 yards up the hill.
