Telegraph Hill Park, New Cross, Lewisham, c. 1910

The Haberdasher's Company, which developed the Telegraph Hill area in the last quarter of the 19th Century, provided a church, schools and open spaces for its new tenants.

The park, laid out in 1895, is in two parts of which this is the northern.

The church, seen in the background, opened in 1893 and was dedicated to St. Catherine.
