These
houses were built c.1870. The developer would
have been encouraged to build at that time
as horse tram services had just started to
run along Camberwell Church Street, providing
cheap, reliable and comfortable transport
to London.
Despite their size the houses were generally
let to one family. Some could afford servants
and some took lodgers. |
