Jones & Higgins, Rye Lane, Peckham, 1963

Jones & Higgins was Peckham's most prestigious shop, and Rye Lane was one of the most important shopping streets in south-east London.

The firm established a branch at 3 Rye Lane in 1867 and expanded in the later years of the 19th century.

The distinctive premises with its central tower dates from the 1930s. The store closed down in 1980 but the building remains.
