The plan shows the sale of a large detached house on the Old Kent Road, near the junction with the modern Massinger Street.

It also illustrates many aspects of the change of character of the area from desirable residential to urban, shown by the nearby carriage factory, proposed new road, and, most significantly, the intended use of surrounding land for building.
