This panoramic view of the river front showing the town of Woolwich notes its principal industrial features; on the right the naval dockyards, which date from the mid 16th century, and on the left the Royal Arsenal.

Prominent in the centre is St Mary's Church. Shooters Hill rise is clearly visible in the background to the left.
