There are two important public buildings in this view of Peckham Road.

In the middle-distance with the flagpole, the Town Hall of the Metropolitan Borough of Camberwell, which was built in 1873 as the Camberwell Vestry Hall. It became the Town Hall for the London Borough of Southwark when that body was created in 1965.

To its left is the Board of Guardians' Offices.
